This is an video on how to make a fireman or woman effect in phototshop. This effect looks similar to one of the fantastic four: the human torch. If you want to give it a more human torch feel apply the fire wraping around the whole body.

Here is a great little effect that adds a whole lot of “mood” to an image by softening and increasing contrast and also features a vignette around the focal point of your choosing. The beauty of this technique is that by using adjustment layers we have full control over the final effect’s strength and color. This one is a great tutorial for Photographers of any type.

Step 3:
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Pattern Overlay blending option to your stock photo layer. Then set the layer’s blending mode to Color Burn at 64 % opacity level.

Well guys, the first tutorial did quite well so I figured I’d create a second one! It is always recommended that you register and refer to the .PSD.

Here’s a preview of what we’ll be creating today:

Step 1:
OK, before we begin make sure you download and install the following pattern from squidfingers.com.

Step 2:
Create a new Document 1000×800, fill the background brown (#615447).

Step 3:
Create a New Layer. Now go to edit>fill, and fill the layer with the pattern we installed.

Step 4:
Lower that saturation to -85%. To do this press CTRL+U and set it down to -85.

Step 5:
Set the layer to overlay and lower the opacity to somewhere between 10-30, whatever you feel is approiate. Here’s how our background should look by now.

Step 6:
Create a new layer and set your foreground color to #eae2d1. Now grab the rectagle tool and make a rectangle going completely across the template like so:

Step 7:
Grab the Horizontal Text tool and type out your websites name in white and dark brown. If your site name has two words make the first word bold (it looks better). I used the font Myraid Pro.

Step 8:
Create a new layer under the rectangle layer. On this layer select a soft brush and add lighting behind the header.

Step 9:
Set the layer mode to overlay.

Step 10:
Create a new layer, on this layer were going to add lighting under the rectangle. To do this simple make a white to transparent gradient like I’ve done.

Step 11:
Set the layer mode to overlay and lower the opacity to 78%.

Step 12:
Grab the white soft brush again and make a big dot below the header on the rectangle.

Step 13:
Now we need to create dividers. To do this start by making a selection like so:

Step 14:
Next grab a 45px black soft brush and bush like i’ve done:

Step 15:
Use the eraser tool with a soft brush to thin it out.

Step 16:
Lower the opacity to 30% to create a nice smooth divider.

Step 17:
Duplicate the divider layer 2x and arrage them like so.

Step 18:
Create a new layer, and grab the rounded rectangle tool with a radius of 6px. Create a white rectangle the width of the 2 farthest dividers:

Step 19:
Lower the opacity to 37% and set the layer mode to overlay.

Step 20:
Now we have to blur that section of the background to make it look more glass like. Too do this start by making a selection of the rounded rectangle.

Step 21:
Now highlight the original background. Press CTRL+C then CTRL+V. this should create a copy of the background in the shape of our rounded rectangle. Apply Gaussian blur set at 23.3 to this layer.

Step 22:
Create a black rectangle at the bottom of the page around 50px high. Lower its opacity to about 50%.

Step 23:
Add text to everything and you’re done! Here’s how mine turned out:

In this tutorial I will teach you how to create a full web template that can be used for just about anything. It is always recommended that you register and refer to the .PSD.

For simplicity this tutorial has been split into four sections, which are:

1. The Background
2. The Header
3. The Boxes
4. The Footer

Here’s a Preview of our final product:

Section 1: The Background

Step 1:
Open up a fresh document 900×1000. Fill the background white.

Step 2:
Download and install the following pattern: (it’s small)

Step 3:
Open up blending options on the background layer and apply the following settings:

Step 4:
Create a new layer and make a selection like I’ve done:

Step 5:
Set your foreground color to (#e3e3e3), create a new layer, and apply a gradient going downwards.

Step 6:
Adjust the position of this layer and lower the opacity to 50%. Here is how the background should look:

In this tutorial I will teach you how to create an awesome animated blur effect in cs3. It is always recommended that you register and refer to the .PSD.

Step 1:
To start, open up an advertisement banner, or the document on which you want to apply the effect to. I used the following banner, you can download the .psd in the members section.

Step 2:
OK, So basically this is how the effect works: you have one line of text, and then it blurs out and a new line of text appears. To start grab the Text Tool and type out three lines of text. Each on there own layer and on top of each other. In our case we used:
“Only quality tutorials”
“New updates every 3 days”
“Downloadable PSD’s and Video”

Step 3:
Now We have to create 3 blurred layers. To do this simply make a copy of one of your text layers (CTRL+J), Rasterize the copy (Layer>rasterize>type), and apply motion blur with the following settings:

Step 4:
Duplicate the blurred layer 3 times (CTRL+J x3), then merge them together (CTRL+E x3). We do this to make the blur a bit more visible. You should now have a blur layer like mine.

Step 5:
Create a blurred layer for each line of text you have (in our case three). You’re layers should look similar to mine.

Step 6:
Hide all of the text and blurred layers except for the un-blurred first line of text. To do this simple un-check the eyeball next to each layer.

Step 7:
Open up the animation Window. To do this go to Window>Animation. It looks something like this.

Note: in older versions of Photoshop you must switch over to Imageready.

Step 8:
Set the delay of the first frame to 3 seconds. Create a new frame, now hide the line of text, and un-hide its blur layer. Here’s how frame 2 should look.

Step 9:
Create a new frame, on this frame lower the opacity of the blur layer buy 10%. Continue creating new frames and lowing the opacity all the way down to 20%.

Step 10:
On the 20% frame un-hide the second line of text. Now create a new frame and hide the blur layer, leaving the second line of text. Set the delay to 3 seconds. You should now have something like this:

Step 11:
Repeat this process for the remaining two lines of text, when you finish it should look like this:

In this tutorial I will teach you how to create an awesome wallpaper from scratch! It is always recommended that you register and refer to the .PSD.

Step 1:
Open up a fresh document, any wallpaper size will do (1024×768, 1280×1024, 1650×1080), for this tutorial I used 1024×768.

Step 2:
Fill the background a nice winter blue, I used the color #7fc0ed.

Step 3:
Select the custom shape tool with the following shape:

Step 4:
Create a new layer and set your foreground color to white. Now apply the customshape rather small.

Step 5:
Rotate the snowflake a tad bit to the left or right. To do this simply go to free trasform (CTRL+T).

Step 6:
Repeat steps 4 and 5 around 8-10 times. Remember to rotate each one a bit differently and to use different sizes.

Step 7:
Change your shape to a different snowflack (there’s one to the right and the left of the current). Apply the new snowflake 5 or 6 times.

Step 8:
Select the last snowflake and apply it 3-4 times.

Step 9:
Merge all of the snowflake layers. The Easyest way to do this is to hide the background layer (un-check the little eye icon), select the top layer, and press CTRL+Shift+E (merge all).

Step 10:
Now its time to make our snowflakes shiny. Duplicate the snowflakes layer (CTRL-J). Go to filter>blur>gassian blur and apply it with the follwoing sellings:

Step 11:
Duplicate the snowflake layer again (not the blurred), and this time apply motion blur with the following settings.

Step 12:
Duplicate the motion blurred layer 2 times in order to make it more visable. By now you wallpaper should look like so:

Step 13:
Create a new layer and set your foreground color to white. Now grab a 13px soft brush and make dots following the motion blur.

Step 14:
Select a huge soft brush (400px+) and brush a circle around the whole wallpaper.

Step 15:
Lower the opacity of the circle to 80%.

Step 16:
Create a new layer, brush around the wallpaper again, this time only the corners.

Step 17:
Grab the text tool and type out some text at a 45 degree angle. You’re done! Here’s how mine came out:
